I was surprised that I wasnt more black and blue for the presentation in London (only 10 days postop).. most people refused to believe I had undergone such extensive surgery so recently!
There has been no discoloration visible since I left and the swelling in the nose and chin has been dropping very fast! The talk about transgender identities at the conference was packed- more attendees than any other talk at the conference, with very good feedback. There were people who broke down (emotionally) in front of some of the exhibits and we have photographs of others who were praying -- so very powerful stuff.

Apesar de ainda estar no pós, estou amando minha testa, o pós é super tranquilo, fiquei um pouco stressada mas devido a anestesia q mexe com nosso psicologico, mas agora ja "voltei ao normal" e estou amando!!! nas fotos então a diferença eh mais gritante ainda, to mt feliz e recomendo o Dr Daniel a quem quiser e puder pagar... vale mt a pena!!! Although I am still resting, I love my forehead! The postop was super quiet, but I was a little stressed due to the anesthesia that gets to your head, but now "I''m back to normal" and I''m thrilled! My name is Marta and in February I decided to have FFS with Facial Team. On March 22nd, I had a trachea shave and rhinoplasty in the USP Hospital of Marbella.
Everything went well, a quick recuperation without pain.
The doctor´s visited me the day after surgery to see how I was, inform me of how the surgery went, and to release me from the hospital since everything was normal.
I stayed in a nearby apartment-hotel, which was reserved for me by Facial Team, having been able to take advantage of the seasonal offer "9 free nights" included with my surgery.
It was best to stay in an apartment, since it allowed me to relax better. Everyday, Ana called me to see how I was and if I needed anything. After 8 days, the sutures and the nasal splint were removed. I liked what I saw in that moment, although still swollen and bruised.
It´s now been 20 days since my surgery and I no longer have any noticable bruising and the swelling has reduced considerably.

Me llamo Marta y el pasado mes de Febrero decidí hacerme una cirugía de feminización facial con el equipo de Facial Team. El 22 de Marzo me operé en la clínica USP de Marbella de una reducción del cartilago tiroides (nuez) y una rinoplastia.
Todo fue muy bien, la recuperación rapidísima y sin dolores.
Al día siguientes me visitaron los doctores para ver como me encontraba, me informaron como había ido la operación y viendo que todo todo estaba bien me dieron el alta hospitalaria.
Me alojé en el apartahotel que tenía reservado por el equipo de Facial Team, aprovechando la oferta de alojamiento de 9 días que incluía la cirugía, muy cerca de la clínica.
En el apartamento la recuperación fue lo mejor porque me dió mucha tranquilidad. Cada día llamaba Ana González interesandose por mi, como me encontraba y si necesitaba cualquier cosa. A los 8 días me quitaron los puntos y la férula de la nariz. Lo que vi en ese momento me gustó, aunque estaba un poco hinchada y algo amoratada.
Hoy hace veinte días que me operé y ya no tengo ningún hematoma y el hinchazon ha disminuido bastante.

Hello .. My name is Ema Sofia. I had facial feminization surgery with Facial Team on September 28, 2010.
And I''m very happy, not only with the results, but also with empathy and extreme degree of humanity that the whole multidisciplinary team has shown me.
It was an adventure from Portugal, alone, travelling 850 km in search of a dream, a goal to feel good about myself. I was nervous because I did not know what I would find, I felt alone in this process that is a radical transformation in how we present ourselves to the world. But I felt calm because the contacts made previously offered me comfort and a great organization demonstrated by Dr Daniel and Ana González.
I must say that I never felt alone in those 11 days I spent in Marbella.
I was facilitated a phone with all the contacts of the team ... I had pre and post operative, almost every day and the soothing voice of Ana whenever I needed something. The surgery, which lasted seven hours, could have left great pain or discomfort, but the joy was so great that all the fear and anguish dissipated. I spent two days at the USP Hospital de Marbella, and I lacked nothing. Attentive staff and a well equipped suite. What pleased me a lot and helped me with a quick recovery was the mask used during hospitalization. Everything went so well that two days after discharge from hospital I went to drive my car to the hotel without any problem, even Dr. Luis was concerned about this show of my attitude. After 5 days postoperatively, I was able to chew food with some discomfort, but it slowly went to it´s site. I will never forget this team because they attended the rebirth ... I went to my family after those 11 days and I know they shared my joy with me. It pained me to leave, say goodbye to them, but that''s life, they did their part and I had to embrace my new life with a high well-being and self-esteem that I never had in 37 years. I waited almost three months to feel prepared to write this testimony. Y estoy muy contenta no sólo con los resultados, sino también con la empatía y el grado extremo de la humanidad que el equipo multidisciplinario me ha mostrado.
Fue una aventura de Portugal, por sí solo, viajando 850 kilometros en busca de un sueño, una meta a sentir bien conmigo mismo. Estaba nerviosa porque no sabía lo que iba a encontrar, me sentía sola en este proceso que es una transformación radical en la forma en que nos presentamos al mundo. Pero yo estaba muy tranquila, porque los contactos realizados con anterioridad me ha ofrecido consuelo y una gran organización demostrada por el Dr. Daniel y Ana González.
Debo decir que nunca me sentí sola en esos 11 días que pasé en Marbella.
Me facilitaron un teléfono con todos los contactos del equipo ... Tuve pre y post operatorio, casi todos los días y la suave voz de Ana cada vez que necesitaba algo. La cirugía, que duró siete horas, podría haber dejado un gran dolor o molestia, pero la alegría fue tan grande que todo el miedo y la angustia se disipó. Pasé dos días en el USP Hospital de Marbella, y no me faltaba de nada. El atento personal y una suite equipada. Lo que me gustó mucho y me ayudó con una recuperación rápida es la máscara utilizada durante la hospitalización. Todo ha ido tan bien que dos días después del alta del hospital me fui a conducir mi coche hasta el hotel sin ningún problema, incluso el Dr. Luis estaba preocupado por esta muestra de mi actitud. Después de 5 días después de la operación, fui capaz de masticar la comida con algo de molestia, pero poco a poco se fue a su sitio. Nunca me olvidaré de este equipo, ya que asistieron el renacimiento ... Fui a mi familia después de los 11 días y sé que ellos comparten mi alegría conmigo. Le dolía que me vaya, decir adiós a ellos, pero así es la vida, ellos hicieron su parte y yo tenía que abrazar a mi nueva vida con un alto bienestar y la autoestima que nunca tuve en 37 años. Esperé casi tres meses para sentirse preparada para escribir este testimonio. Mi nombre es Mónica y hacía bastantes años que estaba interesada en hacerme una intervención quirúrgica para feminizarme el rostro; no sabía dónde hacérmela e, incluso, estuve a punto de irme a Estados Unidos, pero navegando por internet encontré a los doctores Capitán y Simón, me puse en contacto con ellos y, desde el primer momento, se portaron muy bien.\r\n\r\nConcerté la primera visita y me aclararon todas mis dudas, así que decidí hacérmelo con ellos. El resultado ha sido perfecto. Me sentí súper cuidada, además cuando llegué a Marbella siempre tuve a una asistenta a mi disposición, a la que podía llamar en cualquier momento para resolver mis dudas. El día de la intervención fue divinamente y, cuando salí de la operación y desperté, no me dolió nada y eso para mí fue muy importante. Han pasado 7 meses y mi cara es la misma pero bastante femenina, me quitaron la mirada que tenía “de hombre” ¡¡Y ahora me siento mucho más segura de mi misma!! ¡¡Qué lujo salir a la calle sin gafas de sol!! La cicatriz que me han dejado es invisible y eso sólo se consigue cuando los cirujanos son buenos.\r\n
Esta ha sido mi experiencia. A veces pensamos que lo de fuera es mejor, pero eso no es cierto. Aquí tenemos, en mi opinión, los mejores doctores para ayudarnos a ser más felices y a mirar al mundo a los ojos con un rostro conforme a nuestra mente de mujer.

The result is perfect. I felt in good hands and when I arrived in Marbella, I always had a patient coordinator to whom I could call at any time for any doubt. The day of the surgery was perfect and when the surgery was finished I did not feel pain; that was really important for me. Now, seven months after surgery, my face is the same but more feminine. I no longer have the “masculine look” and I feel more self confident. What a pleasure to go around without sunglasses. The scar is invisible and that is only achievable when the surgeons are very good.\r\n
This is my experience. Sometimes we think that we can find the best in other countries but it is not true. Here, in my opinion, we have the best doctors to help us to become happier and to face the world with looks in relation to our female mind.
