Blepharoplasty

A blepharoplasty can remove bags, pouches and excess skin from under and over the eyes.

During upper eyelid surgery (eyelift), incisions are made along your natural skin lines and creases, and then separates the skin from underlying muscle and fatty tissue. Once separated, the excess skin (which causes the wrinkles) and fat (which causes the heaviness) is removed and/or sculpted and the incisions are closed.

During surgery of the lower lids, the incision is often made inside the rim of the eyelid. The fat pads causing the bags are removed or repositioned. Wrinkles and crowsfeet around the eyes can also be resurfaced with laser during the same procedure to produce an even more youthful-looking result.
